摘要: Wireless sensor networks employ duty-cycles to save energy, with the cost of enlargement end-to-end latency. Cross-layer protocols that use anycast medium access control achieve latency reduction in asynchronous duty-cycled wireless (WSNs). A series strobed preambles is sent order rendezvous next relay, selected from a forwarding candidate set (FCS). This paper proposes PAX-MAC: Pramble Ahead Medium Access Control. It novel protocol for low packet propagation WSNs. In PAX-MAC, propagate ahead data packet, prospecting route towards sink node, while message some hops later. Simultaneous and packets provides reduction. The cardinality FCS determines average preamble speed, which lower bounded by speed. Differently other approaches, our takes size into account maintain an optimal distance between minimize For determining this distance, detailed mathematical model introduced. performance several state-of-the-art was appraised compared PAX-MAC. Our outperforms all simulated scenarios. Its energy expenditure compatible best result among protocols. worst case, PAX-MAC spent 6 % more than one gain 20
