摘要: For the discourse of localization, translation is often "just a language problem". theorists, localization introduces fancy words but nothing essentially new. Both views are probably right, only to an extent. This book sets up dialogue across those differences. Is there anything that theory can gain from localization? Can learn history and complexity translation? To address questions, both terms placed within more general frame, text transfer. Texts distributed in time space; respond differently movements; their relative virtues thus brought out on common ground. Anthony Pym here reviews not key problems theory, also critical concepts such as cultural resistance, variable transaction costs, segmentation labour market, dehumanization technical discourse. The closes with plea for humanizing translation, over above efficiencies localization.
