摘要: Constant discharge of pollutants into the environment, namely at salt marshes, poses a serious problem. Hence, remediation these ecosystems is crucial not only for their conservation, but also to prevent propagation food web. Salt marsh plants have been suggested as suitable alternatives soil/sediment remediation, having shown potential phytoremediation metal-polluted media. However, more studies in conditions close possible those found environment are needed really confirm this potential; aim two reported chapter. The first study results showed capability plant Halimione portulacoides accumulating high metal levels from its tissues, indicating, however, that biomass will be required phytoremediating metal-affected areas. second indicate both Juncus maritimus and Phragmites australis capacity Cd phytostabilizers indicating can contribute recovery impacted estuarine More experiments should now carried out applicability assess ways improve by phytostabilization metals.
