摘要: The discovery of transposable elements in maize by Barbara McClintock was greatly facilitated the thorough genetic characterization this species since early years century. In particular, identification several colour genes helpful to detect unstable mutants. Meanwhile, at least ten independent mobile element systems are known corn (Petersen 1986). However, only four these families molecularly characterized more detail (recent reviews: Doring and Starlinger, 1986; Fedoroff, 1989).
