Dynamic laser speckle technique as an alternative tool to determine hygroscopic capacity and specific surface area of microporous zeolites

摘要: Abstract Adsorption phenomena have several technological applications such as desiccants, catalysts, and separation of gases. Their uses depend on the textural properties solid adsorbent type adsorbed liquid or gas. Therefore, it is important to determine these properties. The most common measurement methods are physicochemical based adsorption N2 surface area distribution pores size. However techniques present certain limitations for microporous materials. In this paper we propose use Dynamic Laser Speckle (DLS) technique measure hygroscopic capacity a natural zeolite their modified forms. This new approach water by solids allows specific (S). To test DLS results, compared obtained S values those calculated different conventional isotherms using adsorption-desorption method.
