摘要: ABSTRACT. Objective. To determine the associationbetween light-to-moderate prenatal alcohol exposure andcongenital renal anomalies. Methods. Data from population-based AtlantaBirth Defects Case-Control Study were used to examinethe association between selected anomalies andself-reported maternal consumption during theperiod 1 month before through 3 months after con-ception. Case infants ascertained by a birth defects registry with active case ascertain-ment; group consisted of 158 infants, bornduring 1968 1980 metropolitan Atlanta resi-dents, in whom these had been diag-nosed. Two control groups used. One 3029infants without defects, and other 4633infants exclusive urinary tractwho born same period. Results. Overall, there was moderate alcoholexposure (odds ratio, 1.5; 95% confidence interval, 1.0 to2.3). When subclassified, mod-erate significantly associ-ated only agenesis or hypoplasia ratio,2.5; 1.2 5.1), within thisgroup bilateral majoranomalies addition hypoplasiahad elevated risks. There no signifi-cant associations reported light consumptionand any category Noconclusions could be reached for heavy con-sumption because sparse data. Adjustments poten-tial confounding factors did not alter results.
