Increase in efficiency on using selenophene instead of thiophene in π-bridges for D-π-DPP-π-D organic solar cells

摘要: A new D–π–A–π–D small molecule (VC7) based on a selenophene-flanked diketopyrrolopyrrole core and two Zn-porphyrin peripheral moieties was designed synthesized. The optical electrochemical properties of VC7 were investigated compared with those VC6, which has the same chemical structure but thiophene units in π-bridge rather than selenophene. exhibited extended absorption spectra near infrared region solar spectrum showed improved hole mobility high HOMO energy level. After optimization active layers, VC7:PC71BM organic cells (OSCs) significantly higher power conversion efficiency 9.24% (JSC = 15.98 mA cm−2, VOC 0.89 V FF 0.66) comparison to VC6:PC71BM (PCE 7.27%, JSC 14.31 0.82 0.62); this result represents 27% increase efficiency. Our results show that value for VC7-based OSC is due combination more profile, mobility, balanced charge transport exciton dissociation probability.
