摘要: Health information technology (HIT) and care coordination for individuals with complex needs are high priorities quality improvement in health care. However, there is little empirical guidance about how best to design electronic record systems related technologies facilitate implementation of models behavioral health, or apply user input the testing process. In this paper, we describe an iterative development process that incorporated user/stakeholder perspectives at multiple points resulted system (EBHIS) specific wraparound model youth serious emotional disorders. First, review foundational HIT research on EBHIS can enhance efficiency outcomes was used inform development. After describing rationale functions a prototype wraparound, methods results series six small studies informed across four phases effort—predevelopment, development, initial testing, commercialization—and discuss these refinement. Finally, present next steps, challenges dissemination, others aiming develop specialized HIT. The team’s experiences reinforce opportunity presented by improve populations needs, while also pointing litany barriers be overcome implement such technologies.
