摘要: The present study introduces a multi-criteria index to assess flood hazard areas in regional scale. Accordingly, Flood Hazard Index (FHI) has been defined and spatial analysis GIS environment applied for the estimation of its value. developed methodology processes information seven parameters namely flow accumulation, distance from drainage network, elevation, land use, rainfall intensity geology. initials these criteria gave name method: "FIGUSED". relative importance each parameter occurrence severity connected weight values. These values are calculated following an "Analytical Hierarchy Process", method originally solution Operational Research problems. According their values, different is superimposed, resulting mapping. accuracy supported by sensitivity that examines range weights' corresponding alternative scenarios. presented area north-eastern Greece, where recurring events have appeared. Initially FIGUSED resulted map. A on parameters' revealed some interesting criterion, commented Discussion section. Moreover, concluded revised FHIS (methodology named FIGUSED-S) mapping, supporting robustness methodology. comparison outcome with records historical confirmed proposed provides valid results.
