摘要: At Kafr El-Sheikh province, Egypt, out of 117 examined drafting horses, mites were detected in 20 (17.09%) horses. The recovered 14 Chorioptes, four Psoroptes and two Sarcoptes whereas not cases clinically showed typical mange lesions. Interestingly, neither the age nor sex horses had a clear influence on prevalence infection. Clinical signs observed infested form irregular skin lesions, severe itching sometimes biting affected areas decrease feed consumption. lesions mainly start as erythematous area followed by developing papules crust formation. Skin scratches result traumatized usually occurred. Hair was lost parts alopecic areas. Distribution varied according to type mite. Chorioptic mite para-anal fold, distal portion legs tail Psoroptic withers, mane, shoulder flank Sarcoptic isolated from head neck. Complete clinical parasitological cure for infestation obtained within 2 weeks both moxidectin ivermectin treated groups with 100% recovery rate. Our results indicated that oral gel is effective good alternative treatment chorioptic horse avoid drug resistance may develop intensive use alone long periods.
