Performance on a standardized test of self-concept was investigated matched samples normal retarded readers, all whom had been identified by the school system underachievers. The subjects with reading retardation documented achievement testing significantly lower than that performance. Self-concept performance found be negatively related age, grade, each measure achievement. implications lowered for remedial progress are discussed.
