摘要: ABSTRACT Laboratory studies demonstrate that the gut microbiome can regulate host anxiety and exploratory behaviour. While this has implications for human health, it could have ecological evolutionary wild populations, a hitherto untested hypothesis. We tested whether directly modulate behaviour thereby affect life history in mice (Peromyscus maniculatus) voles (Myodes gapperi). compared composition, exploration behaviours, home range of before after chronic antibiotic treatment measured survival during treatment. Treated animals had lower diversity relative abundance most bacterial phyla save Proteobacteria which increased abundance. In mice, decreased without impacting survival. voles, lowered such we not test its effect on Therefore, impact wild.
