Relationships between EEG and biochemical parameters in major depressive disorder

摘要: — Twenty-five patients with major depressive disorder according to RDC were examined computerized quantitative EEG before antidepressive treatment. Normal EEGs found in 20 and slight abnormality five cases. Relationships between various variables pretreatment accumulation rate of 14C-5-HT 3H-NA rat synaptosomes, incubated patients’ plasma, 5-HT whole blood studied. Age current treatment benzodiazepines taken into account. There was an inverse relationship alpha-1 amplitude all derivations beta-2 the parieto-occipital derivation on one hand synaptosomal other. This result indicates that low is related increased alertness. pattern suggested be associated a serotonergic subgroup depression. The relationships other biochemical patterns did not show any consistent pattern.
