Effect of grain size distribution on the strength of porous Si3N4 ceramics composed of elongated β-Si3N4 grains

摘要: The grain size distributions (diameter and aspect ratio) of porous Si3N4 ceramics composed elongated β-Si3N4 grains were evaluated statistically, their effect on the pore distribution flexural strength was investigated. Porous having porosities 27 to 43% median diameters 0.56 0.96 μm used as specimens. diameter well correlated ceramics. We concluded that increased with increasing length decreasing porosity.
