The crystal engineering of radiation-sensitive diacetylene cocrystals and salts

摘要: In this work we develop photoreactive cocrystals/salts of a commercially-important diacetylene, 10,12-pentacosadiynoic acid (PCDA, 1) and report the first X-ray crystal structures PCDA based systems. The topochemical reactivity system is modified depending on coformer used correlates with structural parameters. Crystallisation 1 4,4′-azopyridine (2), 4,4′-bipyridyl (3), trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl)ethylene (4) results in unreactive 2 : 1 cocrystals or salt case 4,4′-bipiperidine (5). However, formation morpholine (6), diethylamine (7), n-butylamine (8), highly salts 12·7 1·8 whose can be explained using criteria. 1·6 also compared to model morpholinium butanoate salt. Resonance Raman spectroscopy reveals details photopolymer including its conformational disorder comparison less photoactive alkali metal extent solid state conversion monitored by CP-MAS NMR spectroscopy. We an unusual catalysis which amine evaporation from photopolymerised ammonium effectively acts as catalyst for polymerisation itself. new exhibit more but decreased conjugation commercial lithium are considerable practical potential terms tunable colours greater range UV, X-ray, γ-ray dosimetry applications.
