摘要: As the natural world has become dominated by human influences public involvement in resource management decisions vital. In addition, scientists are now viewing nature as a dynamic rather than “in balance”. To accommodate these paradigms, managers have been encouraged to look holistically at problems they manage through lens of adaptive management. Current theory incorporates variability, uncertainty, relationship impacts with respect potential temporal and spatial disconnects, social concerns. Add obvious need for modeling stage is set participatory system dynamics modeling. Participatory SD process that can integrate science local knowledge policy, open lines communication between potentially different views. We will use case studies highlight three characteristics environmental illustrate flexibility effectiveness broad range interventions. The are: 1) Interventions may take place anywhere on “problem identification solution producing” continuum. 2) Stakeholder actual building model varies; “hands on” 3) type data required varies “qualitative quantitative”
