摘要: Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a world-wide growing health problem affecting more than 150 million people at the beginning of new millennium. It believed that this number will double in next 25 yr. The pathophysiological hallmarks diabetes consist insulin resistance, pancreatic β-cell dysfunction, and increased endogenous glucose production. To reduce marked increase cardiovascular mortality diabetic subjects, optimal treatment aims normalization body weight, glycemia, blood pressure, lipidemia. This review focuses on pathophysiology molecular pathogenesis resistance capability antihyperglycemic pharmacological agents to treat i.e., α-glucosidase inhibitors, biguanides, thiazolidinediones, sulfonylureas, insulin. Finally, rational approach proposed based dynamic abnormalities highly heterogeneous progressive disease.
