摘要: Genotypic characterization of bacterial isolates provides valuable information for epidemiological surveillance and microbial population biology. In particular, the ability to discern clonal relatedness among can be used identify links sites transmission, some which are not easily traced using conventional contact investigation. The spatial temporal clustering that share same or closely related genotypes add further value use molecular fingerprinting in detection management infectious disease outbreaks. This chapter reviews discusses both spatio-temporal public health biosurveillance includes examples allow integration genotyping into decision making.
