摘要: Data-rich birds' nests in museum collections are relatively rarely used ornithological research but can be valuable sources of scientific data. Materials, architecture, artefacts utilisation and preserved nest fauna all combine to make potentially excellent behavioural archives. Over recent years, the Natural History Museum, Tring, Hunterian Glasgow, have cooperatively developed their respective deliver a combined resource that is international scope, increasingly taxonomically representative rich time-series specimens for British breeding species. Here we review role furthering avian explore how new techniques may provide exciting opportunities. We also consider collection development might better tailored needs biology researchers.
