摘要: This paper offers a new theoretical approach to urban squatting, reflecting the view that squatters and formal residents compete for land within city. The key implication is “squeeze” market, raising price paid by residents. squatter organizer ensures squeezing not too severe, since otherwise, will rise level invites eviction landowners. Because absent in equilibrium, model differs from previous analytical frameworks, where occurs with some probability. It also facilitates general equilibrium anal ysis of formalization policies. (
