摘要: I review the basic modes of quiescent star formation and starbursts. Star-formation efficiency is key to reconciling hierarchical galaxy with observed colours counts. A unified viewpoint that all is, at some level, bursty. This motivated both by local observations theory. describe how self-regulation provides prescriptions for star-formation rate efficiency, starburst-driven mass outflows.
