摘要: Abstract Peaks in the energy spectra at forward angles, measured by Tyren and Maris, of 185 MeV protons inelastically scattered from (s, d) shell nuclei are interpreted as due to spin-flip scattering associated with excitation M1 giant resonance levels residual nuclei. Cross sections estimated using distorted wave impulse approximation together γ-widths relevant known other experiments. Good order-of-magnitude agreement observed cross is obtained. Comparison made various approximations for calculating it concluded that zero-range operator WKB constitute a good finite range, exact approximation. It also shown only imaginary part distorting potential affects results appreciably. The position transition strength those which strongly excited process calculated very simple nuclear models, i.e., jj-coupling single-particle model quasi-particle pair model, fair experiment being suggested essentially rather than collective nature. Further experiments test this suggestion proposed.
