摘要: Shale is an important geological media for carbon capture utilization and storage. On one hand it can be regarded as impermeable caprock to prevent CO2 migration from reservoir, on the other also treated both natural gas storage reservoir. CO2-shale reactions within interfere with integrity of rock compromise long-term safety stability; however this interaction improve conductivity enhance shale recovery organic-rich shale. This chapter presents a review current state knowledge regarding interactions their potential impacts properties groundwater quality in context enhanced recovery. The characterization which critical understanding various between first summarized. major mechanisms including CO2-shale-water geochemical reactions, adsorption induced clay swelling organic matter extraction supercritical impact porosity permeability, mechanical properties, capacity are surveyed. Finally, open questions field emphasized new research needs highlighted.
