Aphasia Treatment in Japan

摘要: The dawn of scientific investigation aphasia in Japan dates back almost one hundred years. Until the end 1950s, however, studies focused largely on clinico-pathological correlates aphasia, and were conducted mostly by physicians with a theoretical background European psychiatry or neuropsychiatry. In early 1960s more empirical/pragmatic approach to problem was first introduced this country through new discipline called speech language pathology (or logopedics some countries). Since that time, there has been an increasing interest therapeutic aspects communication disorders substantial expansion field as whole. past two decades have witnessed significant development level both technical sophistication clinical aphasiology.
