摘要: The stem-cement interface is one of the most significant sites in cemented total hip replacement and has long been implicated failure whole joint system. However, shear strength at this rarely compared across a range commercially available bone cements. present study seeks to address issue by carrying out comparative study. results indicated that static was more dependent on cement type than viscosity volume. both were contributory factors porosity micropore size surface. There no difference between Simplex P with Tobramycin. Although cements all hand mixed study, significantly larger values recorded other researchers, showed much lower values. Bone transfer films detected stem surface, typically about 4-10 mum thick. They considered be an important factor contributing high friction after initial debonding.
