摘要: Introduction: The Xpert MTB/RIF test detects DNA from Mycobacterium tuberculosis complex and susceptibility to rifampin. It has been evaluated repeatedly under “ideal” conditions including centrifugation of sputum bronchoalveolar lavage, Ziehl Neelsen (ZN) auramine/rhodamine staining, as well with solid liquid automated culture methods. Results such evaluations cannot be extrapolated low-income countries that do not routinely use all these processes. Objective: To assess the performance in respiratory samples “real” work a country its correlation phenotypic testing. Materials methods: We conducted cross-sectional study ≥12 year-old patients suspected pulmonary tuberculosis. In routine sample processing at Hospital we centrifugation, staining or culture. Results: screened 152 whom 108 were eligible for 103 included analysis; 34% positive. overall sensitivity, specificity, positive predictive value (PPV) negative (NPV) 91%, 92%, 83% 96%, respectively. ZN-negative PPV NPV 87%, 68% 97%, results sensitivity resistance rifampin concordant testing using multiple proportions method (kappa=1, p<0.0001). Conclusions: was similar one achieved ideal conditions. Its better country.
