摘要: The Arabidopsis AtMTP family of genes encode proteins the cation diffusion facilitator (CDF) family, with several members having roles in metal tolerances. Four 11 form a distinct cluster on phylogenetic tree and are closely related to ShMTP8, CDF identified tropical legume Stylosanthes hamata that is implicated transport Mn(2+) into vacuole as tolerance mechanism. Of these four genes, AtMTP11 was most highly expressed member subgroup. When Saccharomyces cerevisiae, it conferred transported by proton-antiport A mutant disrupted gene (mtp11) found have increased sensitivity but not Cu(2+) or Zn(2+). At non-toxic sufficient supply (basal), accumulated more than wild type, did show any obvious deleterious effects growth. grown supplies ranged from basal toxic, concentrations shoots similar those wild-type plants, despite showing symptoms toxicity. fused green fluorescent protein co-localized reporter specific for pre-vacuolar compartments. These findings provide evidence Mn(2+)-specific activity AtMTP11, implicate compartments both homeostasis mechanisms Arabidopsis.
