摘要: Osteopetrosis is a metabolic bone disease characterized by reduced resorption. From experimental studies of various osteopetrotic mutations has emerged the hypothesis that each unique with respect to mechanisms whereby osteoclast development and/or function are reduced. The (op) mutation in rat was discovered Fatty/ORL stock over decade ago. paucity data about biology this prompted study cytological, cytochemical, and ultrastructural features osteoclasts. In op rats, osteoclasts significantly number, but larger more vacuolated than normal littermates. Mutant can form ruffled borders clear zones, their ability fragment excavate surfaces greatly impaired. Cytoplasmic vacuoles randomly distributed enlarged, they stain weakly for two cytochemical characteristics osteoclasts, tartrate-resistant acid phosphatase ATPase. These findings suggest an abnormality lysosomal/vacuolar system, important component resorptive mechanism, may be involved interception mutation.
