摘要: Groundwater wells from across the State of California were sampled and analyzed for 210 Pb Po. The separation method involved Fe(OH) 3 precipitation a 5-L groundwater sample followed by electrodeposition Po on nickel disk. resulting solution was passed through an ion-exchange resin column isolation Pb. De-ionized water spiked at concentration range 4.92 mBq L -1 to 755 with these radionuclide standards showed excellent accuracy precision method. In wells, overall activity ranged 3.7 1,481 0.25 555 . Of select tested, 27% 19% above proposed maximum contamination limits radionuclides, which are set 37 26 , respectively. From public health perspective this is concern, since drinking screening levels gross alpha beta 1,850 At such high will not be captured, situation found in several studied. occurrence correlated within sources, however; polonium concentrations always lower than lead concentrations. Activities measured two years apart clearly demonstrated continuous flux aquifers.
