摘要: Osteochondrosis is a generalized skeletal disorder that affects the growth cartilage in growing domestic pig but not minipig of wild hog ancestry. In present study, we compare ultrastructure articular and epiphyseal with minipig. The pigs had areas enlarged chondronecrosis, which caused focal impairment endochondral ossification, retention subchondral bone. Areas chondronecrosis close to blood vessels were found resting zone, no evidence thickened or impaired ossification. was surrounded by chondrocytes, organized small clusters, containing many lipid droplets. vascular channels adjacent contained degenerated vessels. minipigs showed cartilage. A few dead chondrocytes could be seen morphologically normal We conclude restricted perivascular chondrolysis may occur without presence degeneration progressing osteochondrosis.
