Attitudes of Iranian mothers towards family planning, family size and fertility

摘要: Fertility and fertility control behaviour in the context of developing countries is substantially important because its health, environmental, socioeconomic, pohcy implications. This study investigates 406 Iranian women, randomly selected from three regions capital city Tehran. These women were once married, aged 15-45 years fertile. Demographic, attitudinal policy-oriented variables relevant to together with psychological factors such as 'subjective norms' taken into account order analyse issues comprehensively. Data was collected through a questionnaire, including scales for 'abortion', 'contraceptive', 'son preference' 20 items, 33 questions which have been recognized valid, important, influential on behaviour. Alpha Cronbach calculated each scale separately all items collectively. It revealed very high 'intercorrelation' 'internal consistency' among other demonstrated distinctive reliability. Chi-Square test, Analysis Variance, Multiple Stepwise Regression analysis conducted find association, differences, effects importance variable sample's attitudes towards abortion, contraceptive usage, sex preference family size. Demographic socio-economic significantly differentiated respondent. A significant relationship found between 'duration marriage' 'existing size' one hand, 'women's status', combined variable, 'ideal other. similar also status' well 'attitudes
