摘要: Objective To determine the relative effectiveness of second generation ablation techniques in treatment heavy menstrual bleeding. Design Network meta-analysis on primary outcome measures amenorrhoea, bleeding, and patients’ dissatisfaction with treatment. Data sources Nineteen randomised controlled trials (involving 3287 women) were identified through electronic searches Cochrane Library, Medline, Embase PsycINFO databases from inception to April 2011. The reference lists known relevant articles searched for further articles. Two reviewers independently selected without language restrictions. Eligibility criteria selecting studies Randomised involving endometrial destruction women bleeding unresponsive medical Results Of three most commonly used techniques, network showed that bipolar radiofrequency microwave resulted higher rates amenorrhoea than thermal balloon at around 12 months (odds ratio 2.51, 95% confidence interval 1.53 4.12, P Conclusions Bipolar radio frequency ablative devices are more effective free fluid devices.
