摘要: In order to determine the current status of peste des petits ruminants (PPR) in Sokoto State, Nigeria, a competitive ELISA kit was used detect presence antibodies PPR virus among unvaccinated sheep and goats from some randomly selected local government areas (LGAs) study area. An overall seroprevalence rate 45.50% (197/433) recorded for disease this study. Based on LGAs sampled, rates decreasing were 68.75% (Sokoto South), 59.10% (Tambuwal), 56.72% (Goronyo), 53.24% (Kware), 33.24% (Bodinga) 18.60% (Wurno). Our results further revealed that had significantly (p < 0.05) higher percentage (52.41%) than (40.24%) sampled Similarly, age group found be associated with which highest animals aged 1–2 years (52.49%) followed by those less 1 year old (44.86%) above 2 years (31.97%). Lastly, breeds goats, but not considered study, (p < 0.05). Altogether, our signify active circulation all geopolitical zones state, age, sex, species location sampling may constitute risk factors occurrence Therefore, vaccination using homologous vaccine should intensified Genetic characterisation circulating area also performed.
