摘要: Abstract We present a computer algebra procedure that calculates exact cumulants for Pearson X 2 and Zelterman statistics r-way contingency tables. The algorithm is an example of how overwhelming algebraic problem can be solved neatly through implementation by emulating tactics one uses hand. For inference purposes the may used to assess chi-square approximations or improve this approximation via Edgeworth expansions. are compared computerintensive techniques Mehta Patel provide arbitrarily close results. Comparisons utilize gamma distribution (Mielke Berry) also made.
