摘要: Abstract The miniaturization of continuous processes has been interest in the academia and industry which is reflected by increase scientific publications patent disclosures last decade. aim this study was to evaluate patenting trends regarding enzyme related microfluidic applications order observe progress science technology. mapped patents have classified as “immobilization method”, “biomolecule screening systems”, “integrated process development” “microreactor design”. Half were filed academia, whereas other half from industrial research complies with shift microfluidics academic commercial applications. Immobilization procedures carried out at room temperatures such formulation silica matrices using sol–gel technique, incorporation novel hybrid materials, integration supercritical fluids microfluidics, employing ionic liquids wall-less microreactors, designing low cost, high performance devices highlights can pose challenges various life increasing trend expected continue presented state-of-the-art potential enhance industry's capabilities for innovative systems would demonstrate significant economic, societal environmental benefits.
