摘要: Abstract The formation of sp2 carbon by the Boudouard reaction significantly damages refractory ceramics. Sulphur is an efficient way to prevent deposition catalysed Fe3C, in presence H2. Thermogravimetric analysis was carried out on Fe2O3 samples exposed a CO/H2 gas mixture at 600 °C. Solid sulphur mixed with powder or continually added form into reducing gas. were characterised X-ray diffraction, Raman spectroscopy, SEM and TEM. addition 100 ppm species prevents carbon. mechanism that governs inhibition proposed, which thin protective FeS layer (0.5–1 nm) involved.
