摘要: The effect of contrast media on renal extraction para-aminohippurate (PAH) was studied experimentally in dogs. Fifty per cent sodium diatrizoate, 60% meglumine diatrizoate and iothalamate at a dose 0.3 ml/kg body wt., delivered into the artery, produce consistent fall EPAH measured 30 sec after injection with return to control levels several minutes thereafter. Similar volumes physiologic saline resulted no change EPAH. Mannitol, 26.5% chloride (hypertonic), 4.5% caused diminished EPAH, comparable agents, as did 12% (isotonic). data indicate that bolus effect, pH, content are not important genesis For current use, it appears N-methylglucamine cation and/or organic iodinated molecule is capable inducing decrease exclusive hypertonicity, but likely latter plays significant role. Further experiments outlined resolve this question.
