摘要: Ribosomal DNA (rDNA) has been used extensively and very effectively for insect phylogenetic population analysis. In this chapter, we will focus on its use in distinguishing between closely-related species. The rDNA genes encode the rRNA, which comprises three of main RNA structural components ribosomes. Because rRNA a fundamental role mRNA translation all organisms, portions are highly conserved, being same from bacteria to humans (Gerbi, 1986). These conserved provide sequences that can be as primers amplify regions by polymerase chain reaction (PCR) organisms no prior sequence information is known. other advantages target systematics studies, including variable rate evolution across different sections generally high copy number within genome.
