摘要: The humid tropics of Andaman and Nicobar islands represent one the richest repositories diverse biota in South.East Asia. They fall Indo.Malayan realm biosphere earth belong to Island biogeographic zone. A number 2,200 angiosperm species belonging 84 families lies scattered, approximately 10% which (223) are said be endemics, 110 considered as rare threatened. Over 50 plant have collected only once never again (eg. Symplocos oxyphylla 1884 Habenaria andamanica 1891) known from type collections. large already been extinct; a few on their last legs. Anthropogenic reasons seems driving force behind such tragedy impairing natural ecological processes crucial our well being affecting resilience systems.
