摘要: Magnesium is electrochemically the most active metal employed in common structural alloys of iron and aluminum. Mg widely used as a sacrificial anode to provide cathodic protection underground undersea metallic structures, ships, submarines, bridges, decks, aircraft ground transportation systems. Following same principle utilizing characteristics engineering advantages decade-long successful R&D effort, powder now organic coatings (termed Mg-rich primers) pigment protect aerospace grade aluminum against corrosion. primers have performed very well on when compared current chromate standard, but carcinogenic chromate-based coatings/pretreatments are being by Department Defense (DoD) its infrastructure fleets corrosion damage. Factors such reactivity particles coating matrix during exposure aggressive environments, interaction atmospheric gases with impact dissolution, increases pH hydrogen gas liberation at coating-metal interface, primer adhesion need be considered for further development technology.
