摘要: A basic theoretical and experimental investigation of an aerodynamic corona discharge propulsion system is presented. one-dimensional, constant-area analytical model with multiple point, space-charge-limited emission negative ions considered. Explicit relations expressing performance are derived for this system. Experimental results verify the validity expressions indicate that energy conversion efficiency leading to approximately 1%. The experiments further remaining manifests itself in form heat. Ion mobility found be most decisive factor determining performance. Results suggest future studies should directed toward lowering effective ion achieve acceptable level propulsive power efficiency.
