摘要: This article summarizes the trends in agricultural injuries and illnesses past decade, as well as needs for surveillance future. Agriculture is one of most hazardous industries U.S. The fatality rate agriculture remained high (about 22/100,000 workers) through 1990s, tractors leading source death, causing approximately 300 fatalities each year. Non–fatal decreased the employed worker population. There are no adequate injury illness data for self–employed farmers family members to show over time. reported injury rates have been 0.5 16.6/100 workers, based on information. Many studies have shown rates respiratory musculoskeletal symptoms, hearing loss, skin disorders agriculture. overall cancer lower; however, certain cancers are elevated farmers. Surveillance information has not improved significantly decade; however, many studies provided more insight into prevalence, incidence, risk factors for injury illness. Further efforts needed better define populations at risk, including farmers ranchers, members, migrant seasonal others exposed farm hazards. Fatalities documented, it important continue existing Surveillance systems should be developed collect information agriculture–related non–fatal illnesses.
