摘要: Publisher Summary This chapter discusses the determination of molecular species rod outer segment (ROS) phospholipids. The total phospholipid fraction is resolved into individual lipid classes by two-dimensional thin-layer chromatography (TLC). Two studies ROS have indicated that they are rather unique because contain large proportions dipolyunsaturated species. a class calculated to best fit estimate using proportional analysis, algebraic manipulations, and normalization all data from diglyceride acetates (DGAC) their fatty acid composition distribution. Positional analysis acids performed subjecting each phospholipase A 2 hydrolysis, which specifically releases 2-position. for DGAC mixture accomplished with pancreatic lipase hydrolysis. results will be quantitative chemical description major phospholipids found in segments.
