Preparation and characterization of ion-selective polyvinyl chloride based heterogeneous cation exchange membrane modified by magnetic iron–nickel oxide nanoparticles

摘要: Abstract In this research, polyvinylchloride/styrene–butadiene-rubber blend heterogeneous cation exchange membranes were prepared by solution casting technique using tetrahydrofuran as solvent and resin powder functional groups agent. Iron–nickel oxide (Fe2NiO4) nanoparticle was also employed additive in membrane fabrication. The effect of concentration on properties home-made studied. SOM images showed uniform particles distribution relatively surfaces for the membranes. increase Fe2NiO4 caused to decrease water content. Membrane ion capacity initially increased increasing 1 wt.% then decreasing trend with higher potential, charge density, permselectivity transport number enhanced loading 2 wt.% they began more concentration. Membranes exhibited lower selectivity bivalent ions compared monovalent ones. permeability, flux conductivity ionic 0.5 wt.% loading. Permeability improved Modified permeability type.
