摘要: The objective was to assess the effectiveness of a comprehensive artificial insemination (AI) training program designed facilitate an understanding breadth AI process, including skill acquisition, for preclinical veterinary students. Participants (n = 303) were enrolled at Ross University School Veterinary Medicine (Basseterre, St. Kitts, West Indies). 2-d 20) consisted ∼8 h instruction and demonstration hands-on activity. Oral presentations used deliver educational content, followed by video clips, discussion, demonstrations, Reproductive anatomy physiology estrous cycle, sire collection, evaluation, cryopreservation distribution conventional sexed semen, storage handling frozen use synchronization protocols, accurate efficient detection estrus, correct technique discussed. True or false pre- posttests determine level knowledge gained participants during program. Preclinical students required complete semen practical exam achieve certificate completion. Participant evaluations conducted conclusion indicated that found structure, activities be appropriate useful. No negative comments offered about program, instructor, activity coinstructors. increased posttest scores 22 percentage points. Only 1 participant unable completion due failure exam. These results provide evidence relevant effective it information acquisition with immediate field application.
