摘要: The success of 3D simulations stratospheric constituent variability depends critically on the initialization fields within global model. authors describe a technique for generating from vertical constitutent profiles. uses potential vorticity (q) and temperature ({theta}) to map profiles onto domain. used here are obtained 2D model calculation that reproduces relationship between {theta}, q, N{sub 2}O O{sub 3} observed during Airborne Arctic Stratospheric Expedition (AASE). method is verified by comparison with satellite data, aircraft data simulations.
