摘要: Abstract Several Northern European countries are facing an incineration plant capacity larger than national generation of waste, mainly caused by a reduced availability economic crisis and over-investments. This is causing several WTE power plants to operate at or under-utilized waste input capacity. In the aforementioned context, this paper focuses on two repowering options improve conversion efficiency existing Waste-To-Energy (WTE) with Gas Turbine (GT). particular, study investigates feasibility middle pressure strategies: additional steam produced in simplified Heat Recovery Steam Generator (HRSG) fed GT exhaust gas. The proposed quite simple easy adapt mid-size types plant. A thermodynamic evaluation system presented for typical WTE. For each investigated option, minimum size identified along optimum match condition terms complete simulation cycle performed different configurations examined under commercial units. Detailed modifications resulting performance improvements both analyzed options. Furthermore, key indicators have been taken into account evaluate, configuration, integrated dual-fuel enhancement comparison original Both output repowered compare favorably those stand-alone system: rise up three times one first law can reach 36%. integration enhance utilization, achieving positive synergy effects, as quantified study.
