摘要: Abstract: Invasions by nonindigenous forest insects can have spectacular effects on the biodiversity, ecology, and economy of affected areas. This introduction explores several critical issues that are generally relevant to invasions in- sects provide an extended background for this special issue Cundiun Jourrtal ($* fi)re,st Research highligllts key findings papers included in issue. The topics covered address new information about (1) role cargo shipments as invasion pathways arrival such wood borers bark beetles, (2) biogeographical influence ecological economic impact feeding exotic tree species, (3) influ- ence biodiversity impacts invasibility ecosystem, (4) recent advances detection, monitoring, management invasive species native pests. including DNA barcoding identifica- tion, use pheromones monitoring mating disruption, biological control. These likely become even more important with elevated prevalence a result increasing global trade interna- tional travel.
