摘要: Planar Laser Induced Fluorescence (PLIF) has been used to determine the mixing performance of KM static mixers for blending Newtonian fluids (aqueous glycerol solutions) and time-independent non-Newtonian carbopol 940 solutions), whose rheology shows Herschel-Bulkley behaviour. The effect number elements, fluid apparent viscosity ratio two-fluid have investigated at constant mixture velocity 0.3 m s -1 . For blending, addition a high stream into lower main flow causes very poor performance, with unmixed spots visible on PLIF image. Determination log variance average striation thickness revealed conflicting trends. A combined area based method allows presentation criterion which combines aspects both scale intensity segregation, can be in combination conventional approaches.
