摘要: Sections of pancreas from 21 nonhuman primates with diabetes mellitus were examined by light and electron microscopy. All monkeys showed amyloid accumulation in the islets Langerhans. Amyloid was identified its dichroism three different stains: Congo red, changing red to yellowish-green; standardized toluidine blue, blue red; sulfated alcian blue-green pink. Sulfated a rapid effective means detecting amyloid. The characteristic fibrillar structure seen transmission Deposition islet independent presence or absence other organs. Results indicate that offer model for studying sequential development insular amyloidotic mellitus.
